Art i territori 2018

This course aims to showcase and value contemporary art, heritage and culture in the rural and natural context. Art and territory wants to contribute to the development of sensitivity and the faculty of aesthetic appreciation, and wishes to deepen the thinking and creative process of artists from different disciplines to understand and value artistic discourses. It also aims to promote creativity, collaborative work in artistic processes, respect for cultural diversity and help each one to build their own story with a creative language.

The course has an interdisciplinary and eminently practical character, it is aimed at people who are curious and interested in artistic, contemporary art, territory and collective heritage: cultural, artistic, natural, landscape, historical and literary. The thematic unit of this fifth edition is the traces.
The traces, in a physical and metaphorical sense, are the central axis of the course and the focus of the interventions, talks, workshops, itineraries and contemporary art projects proposed by artists and teachers, with their different looks.

Traces are evidence of the existence and / or action of the environment, objects and beings you live in a specific time and place. These traces, permanent or fleeting, originate, occur, emerge, inspire, find, search, follow and reschedule, we interpret, retain and rebuild them, but we often ignore them, We avoid them, we erase them, forget them and even censure, prohibit and destroy them.

The memory preserves the traces that make it possible to read the landscapes and territories of the personal and collective imagery, the oblivion disappears from others. What material, visual, oral, sound, olfactory, gustatory, conceptual, environmental, identity and digital traces are we generating in our daily lives? Are we aware? Which traces, witnesses of our present activity, will survive us?
