"El Laberint"

This creation arises from a joint proposal for the Educational Services of Espai Guinovart and the Guinovart classroom of the Macià - Companys School of Agramunt to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the death of Josep Guinovart, and aims to add and contribute new techniques and artistic experiences for schoolchildren. It is an installation that starts from the reference to tapestries by Josep Guinovart, who participates in the movement of renewal of the new artistic languages ​​in 1970. The students will use materials that have been forgotten or disused in school, and such As he did in Josep Guinovart, he transformed them into an artistic work.

From the educational services of the Private Foundation Espai Guinovart, we contemplate art as an educational tool to strengthen the different school programs. Starting from here, we offer a wide range of proposals such as participatory guided tours, activities and workshops focused on the knowledge of the artist and work of Josep Guinovart and contemporary art directed at the different educational cycles up to the baccalaureate and training cycles.

The opportunity to participate in this Macià-Companys School project reinforces the role of museums in contributing and awareness of their true role in society, which must be to develop a clear social function at the same time It expresses our desire to create synergies with school centers with an unequivocal purpose, to help improve the learning and development of children and to contribute to changing the perception of the world as well as its social transformation.

Everything that we expose is based on the figure of Josep Guinovart, he was the creator of Space and everything revolves around his work and thought. The Foundation is clearly part of Josep Guinovart's desire to disseminate and bring contemporary art to the community, since he knows the work of Guinovart, apart from his talent and his constant innovation in technique and art , as well as his international career, will know that in each of his works his clear will of social transformation is implicit, through the critical and constant questioning of the society in which he lived.

Targets:

  • Prioritize the use of different materials and textures to improve the development of manipulative and experimental action.
  • Get closer to the school in the world of contemporary textile installation, with reference to Josep Guinovart's work.
  • Awakening the interest of children in group creation.

Development:

  • The activity will take place at the Market Square.
  • Day 1: From the mesh of hens placed vertically and attached to natural wood, we will weave our carpets with the excess materials of the school and with the possibility of being woven.
