Shelters: Reflections & Projections

Josep Guinovart.

Guinovart not ever been away from the real fact, even when its evolution made him leave to enter figuration towards abstraction. In this evolutionary becoming of his work, there are suggestions or small items that make the viewer not ever disconnected from reality, but also manages to strengthen its origins and roots in their environment. But with the help of historical perspective, we appreciate that Guinovart develops its own language and not exempt timeless enthusiasm, renewal and transformation of the world incesant by own ideas away from the trends of the time and commitment to consolidate a commitment to time.

An attempt to show that commitment is the relationship between art and life pairing, and is at this point where we can make a personal and visible representative in the life of the artist, the time where he had fled along with the his family when he was just a kid in a small cabin in the woods and lived there during the War. This acts as waste and as research continues reason for the different stages in the career of the artist, and need to make visible the memories and sense of justice from making obssesiva, emotional and symbolic interpretation environments nearby, and the humanization of the most important socio-political.

In this way, the exhibition Refuges: Reflections & Projections is an exercise in exploration in the intimate lived properly capable of transforming reality into natural artistic reality, and where the importance of refuge - in this case the cabin, understood as a space for thought where projected desires, aspirations and even utopian, takes center stage in the trajectory of Guinovart. As reflects the German philosopher Martin Heidegger, "the most intense experience of thinking might be possible perhaps only in the humble refuge in the hut, in the remoteness and solitude of the shelter where the distance is perfect to think over all things. " Likewise the difference and philosopher who took refuge voluntarily make a written, Guinovart, like other citizens, had to escape because of a forced situation. At this point we want to recover this waste experiential stop and deploy a Guinovart, that from this film, think, and denunciation takes refuge under an understanding of artistic practice, work and life.
