Espai Guinovart in Agramunt shows recent drawings and oils by Lluís Trepat, an extraordinary opportunity to learn about the latest state of his work and to remember his great status as a draftsman.

In recent years, the pictorial world of Lluís Trepat has been steeped in intimacy. Family scenes appear throughout: his wife, children, dog, own interiors and exteriors, which take place in those interiors of the Barcelona area and even introduce details of nature, only transformed when he returns in Talladell and represents the open horizons of La Segarra.

The drawings that are now exhibited at Espai Guinovart are evocative of the attitude that Lluís Trepat adopts in adulthood. Light, simple, intense at the same time as playful, energetic, exceptional in the end.. The author once again captures bathers or unusual anecdotes, like an airport waiting room. The human figure always focuses his attention, taken through the black lines of Chinese ink or subtly the stroke of the pencil, composing imagined perspectives of a shocking expressionism, emphasized now by a stain or now by brushstrokes that illuminate the tonality of the scene and liken them to paintings, to these canvases of chromatic vigor that play with wisdom to avoid the color black and to explain that the complements are arranged among themselves to describe the painter's craft, of the fruition between the line and color, and to insist that reality is enough to transcend painting.
