Permanent exibithion

Torre Blava / Vilanova i la Geltrú

Located to the right of the torrent of Sant Joan, near the beach of Ribes Roges.

Fortification built during the Third Carlist War, in the last third of the 19th century, was rebuilt and since 2000 it is a space that contains the work of Josep Guinovart dedicated to the sea and to the sea itself as an element of the landscape human

In the Torre Blava we distinguish on the first floor a series of real and imaginary motifs that, for the author, make up the epic memory of the sea. Pirates, shipwrecks and dramas that have taken place on the banks of the extensive sandy areas of the region and the Garraf cliffs have been preserved by popular memory and re-elaborated by the artist's genius. The second floor shows a labyrinth of mirrors full of ropes and knots of the trade of sailor and fisherman. The third floor, a homage to an extensive letter of local and universal characters with references to poetry, literature and music.

ENTORN - CONTORN / Poble Espanyol de Barcelona

The piece evokes a forest by placing several contoured wood pieces that symbolize the trees. The visitor can circulate in the middle of this sculptural forest to which the artist has added new metallic elements that symbolize the foliage of the trees and that are suspended in the air. The work has multiple perspectives since it is located in the vacuum of the descent ramp that unites the three floors of the building, which allows a contemplation of the work in continuous change.
