At the first drawer on the second shelf

The series At the First Drawer of the Second Shelf responds to the last two years of research into a photographic language, which goes beyond the contemporary photographic proposals. For this reason, I define work as parafotographic, that is, photographs that we can identify as such, but which, due to their elaboration and creation, go beyond what we understand as their own in photography. I continue betting on the photographic creation, far from the use of the always limited and dictating camera. In this sense, a manual image with one hundred technical images is more attractive.

The series consists of more than 40 images. All of them with formats ranging from 50 x 80 cm. the smallest ones up to 250 x 60 cm. of the largest. In all cases it is original photographs, that is to say, without negative and made directly on the photographic paper with which they are displayed. The techniques used are basically two: the frame and the "au découpage" frame, salads both with abundant physical and chemical alterations. In Espai Guinovart, however, only a set of 14 photographs will be displayed, conditioned by the space available.

As a result of the pluritematic genesis of the series, it is neither closed nor much less finished. In this Shelf there are still many Drawers to open, which are sure to say, many things to say. In fact, the pluritematic character that I referred to is nothing more than a specification where rage, helplessness, strength, doubt, fear ... unite in progress, abandonment, speculation ... At the same time, these, linked to exploration, research and photographic experimentation ... coincide in a style and language ... acting constantly as a living molecular compound that defies me every day. In short, the base is a pluritematic and meta-technical axis, which leads exclusively to the use as an object-image tool, paradigm and exponent of the foregoing.
