Things we want to do (but we'll never do it)

"We question everything, but we do not lose the sense of humor. Life is not a very serious affair, it is a tragicomedy. We are both an actor and a work. "

- Henry Miller. Reflections on the death of Mishima and on the Maurizius case.

Aggtelek is an artistic couple formed by Xandro Vallès and Gema Perales, who live on horseback between the cities of Barcelona and Brussels. To approach the active and creative processes of Aggtelek, it is necessary to forget about existing prejudices and enter into the pollution of their own ideas, in a storm of concepts halfway to the destruction, laughter, The explosion of concepts with which and through multiple representation registers - the review of collage, video, sculpture, performing acts or science fiction - get their maximum expression. Fearful, hyperproductive, flexible and free processes that interact voluntarily and intuitively with the extreme pursuit of the violent explosion.

Faithful to the successes that determine his work, present for the occasion a proposal of proposals, an assortment of dazzling ideas that can be understood as a testimony to their illusions and failures of what they would like to do but that for one reason or another they have never done. In this way "Things we want to do (but we will never do)" recovers annotations, models, lost ideas and forgotten ones for the study that will never be presented in any exhibition; rather they want to express in this way their existence in power, regardless of the achievement of the dream, the falla or the failure of the different proposals. A visual exercise, of a characteristic matricial concept and of an inexistent relevance that is nourished under an attitude as a starting point: the shamelessness of making fun of a dickfart (a fanfarro, someone who believes that he does not have the respect that he thinks he has, and therefore is not taken seriously by his colleagues), who proposes with greatness, large-scale projects that were never carried out for economic reasons or simply because of the impossibility of carrying them out.

In this way, "Things that we want to do (but we will never do)" includes an installation divided into five pieces or blocks of work that directly develop different proposals impossible, or never considered - such as themes It is the cycle where different attitudes are adopted as a device to generate relationships between people and the aesthetic object as a narrative system in process. So the first block shows an exhibition project in the gallery Soledad Lorenzo de Madrid that never took place, a second block that presents a speech explaining the different proposals for the exhibition that have finally been rejected, one third block that brings us the parody on the impossible aspect of the action of painting, a fourth block of nonsense and other whim, and finally, an analysis of boredom and non-work.
