Waltraud Maczassek

Kytos

Waltraud Maczassek's works share a stir on the organics. The expression of unresolved problems or questions, such as the question of temporality or spatiality, gives rise to reflecting on our relationship with something that does not belong to us, but that we must conserve as an intrinsic part of the ' Being: nature. And it does so without leaving a trace of a specific location or a certain time. His works claim the origin of what living is finite and, therefore, ephemeral. We present with each image the possibility to travel a cycle in constant motion, without clear limits and with a marked poetic intensity.

As an artist, he shares with Guinovart the profound affection towards the environment. Contact with the earth, its smells and lights meet with the question of our existence. This exhibition allows us to generate a dialogue between the abstraction of the Catalan painter and that of the German artist through the deep expression of nature, with all that implies and provokes. The same artist writes about his work that wants to show fragments, spaces lived and captured through emotions. They are works of nature that appeal to the senses and which manifest the sculptural forms that leave behind insects, fungi, corrosion of time or, in this particular case, the cells.

The works of Waltraud Maczassek are fragments that can be perceived as metaphors of the cuts of our memory in the personal journey of life. "Ephemeral nature" speaks of the cell as the gear of a human microcosmology that coexists with us from the beginning to the end and which establishes a direct analogy with the macro vision of the functioning of the cosmos. The exhibition reveals details of what we have, but we can not see, and moves us to the first and first form of the human being: the cell, which, located as a meeting point between individuals and organisms, It takes on a leading role and helps us to see it further and further.
