Mireia c. Saladrigues

AKRON

The artistic practice of Mireia c. Saladrigues is fully dedicated to the study of public roads and reception conditions in which the viewer is exposed through methods and procedures that often challenge the limits of the language of art. By way of leitmotif, its work processes based on a complex dynamic and organic, beyond its formal exhibition, sometimes using codes and mechanisms that respond to their own disciplines of social sciences, while intervening in each of their projects as a critical exercise that concentrates all its intensity and in the knowledge that their work generates.

Some recent examples of such research is "The Museum" and "Radically emancipated (s)" (2011), two projects, from different points of view, address the standardization of artistic reception focusing on the individual and its subjectivity. In this case, "Akron", the specific proposal put forward by the Area Guinovart, based on a thorough analysis of how it affects the reception of artistic and cultural rather than from the individual or the receiver, but since viewpoint of a political and ideological superstructure of control and influence the thinking of the audience, so molds society.

Thus, "Akron", the latest proposal in the cycle "impossible" is conceived as an exercise intervention and the faithful of this title, which itself already has from the outset as a proposal that does not know if you can achieve. On the one hand, aims to rescue and set up an old film projector over a hundred years old, instead of using a xenon lamp as the current, the emitted light beam with bars coal. On the other hand, this means that, in his last pass, it betrays itself by projecting material that could never be watching during their sessions, as this machine, now part of the Ethnological Museum Municipal Agramunt at the time belonged to Catholic Action.

"Akron" (the old mark of carbon rods with which the film projector emits light) will be submitted to the Area Guinovart a concept map. This creating a space surrounding the room, provide the framework for projections while capacitor ideological corpus of the proposal, which will dump both research processes and the concepts that is generated during the production project. An exercise in mode of heroism or achievement that has brought together professionals and amateurs with no knowledge of which would be impossible to move forward this proposal, a true example of artistic practice that emphasizes specific context of absolute lines clearly defining, in I understand the principle of impossibility.
