Pilarín

de mercats i de vida

The exhibition "Pilarín: of markets and of life" presents illustrations by the artist from Vigo. Show your vision of society through markets as a meeting point for people.

Pilarín (1941) draws sweetness, round faces, wide-eyed eyes, red cheeks and a lot of laughter. When opening one of his illustrated books, happiness seizes the moment. He has shaped history, traditions and legends, always showing the territory from the plain of Vic. But it has also crossed borders, and there are many languages that accompany their illustrations. A selection of these images full of life and the books that have come everywhere is what fills the Petit Espai d'Agramunt.

As a good lover, he has starred in the market of Vic, located in one of the most solemn places in Catalonia, among its papers and colors. An old municipal market is also the Espai Guinovart, and Pilarín is the author of the Small History of Space, a book that explains the life of Josep Guinovart and its cultural space in Agramunt.

«Pilarín: of markets and of life» teaches the market as an important meeting point and of representation of our society. The artist does it with the market of Vic, with urban markets and with imaginary markets. All in all, different prints that teach yesterday, today and even the future of our society.

Therefore, the history of this building is perfect for presenting a Pilarín that pays homage to these places full of life.
