The landscape intervened

Josep Guinovart.

Centro de Arte y Naturaleza de la FundaciĆ³n Beulas (Huesca)

"The landscape intervened" aims to reflect Guinovart's relationship with nature. The Catalan artist reflects in his works that nature that human beings have transformed to live and find their support. It is not that high mountain landscape, mysterious and inaccessible that was interesting as of the 18th century, especially the romantics. Guinovart has a more social concern. So, dawn, fertility, spring, wheat and poppies appear, with symbols such as egg shells, the egg where life comes from; An example of what has been said can be seen in the altarpiece of rising white, where white and shells can allude to the birth of the day, spring and life.

In various spaces of the labyrinth exhibit we can see the earth, the rake that works, the stones, the wet mud with suggestive symbologies. We can also see the recollection of wheat and barley, the era of whipping, straw and cereal grains, burnt stubble, bees, ceramics, a world that Guinovart lived as a child at stake In the time of the civil war in the Lleida town of Agramunt.

If we look at it, there is a work, Without title IX, resolved in the form of a niche, semicircular in the upper part, where we see in the center a large grain of grain from which they emit, in the form of light rays , real big lines. Perhaps Guinovart wanted to convey a symbolic significance of sacredness to wheat, to the food so hard-worked. Our daily bread. But they are also artistic concerns of the artist, drought, dry bass, desert, Arid party, The rose of the desert. In the same vein, we can see its concern for the sea, with its blue reached like no one. The fishing moon, Plat and Peix, where fishing is also seen as food.

The exhibition was very successful and was complemented by workshops for the little ones about the work of Josep Guinovart.
