The new millennium and the old skull

Guinovart

This summer of 1999 five years ago we opened the Space. The balance has been more than satisfactory, strong collaboration with the teachers, schools, town organizations, as well as the activity generated with the multiple temporary exhibitions held in the space during these five years, they confirm this. The number of visitors, both from Agramunt and from outside, has increased year after year, but perhaps the most important thing is that the Space has made you the same. Because in the end, it is yours.

Now we will finish the millennium, it is true that all this is important, but not much transcendent, in any case curious because of being a witness and being able to write on January 1, 2000. But nothing will change, because on Monday Tuesdays never changes anything.

What could change it could be the attempt to impose a special waste dump on a piece of stone from Agramunt. This dump, without even knowing its exact location, would be located within the Oliola term, in the Siscar Forest. This area, lived and felt when I was eight years old, has configured a good part of my creativity, but perhaps that is not important. What is really sad is that, if this landfill is consolidated, the inhabitants of Oliola, Agramunt and theirs Counties could lose a very important heritage and, if this barbarity were to be realized, we would lose a small part of our lives.

We should all oppose, we should be solidarity and be very united, it is an ethical and civic necessity. If we do it every day, it will be a force that will become powerful and the most important thing will be that it will become a collective conscience, regardless of any political conditioning.

This double exhibition, on the one hand, a reference to places, magic, loneliness, beauty and purity, still of the Siscar Forest and elsewhere, a reference to the change of millennium.

I wait for you!
