Guinovart Year in the Guinovart Area of ​​Agramunt had to be celebrated in a special way. For this reason, we propose an exhibition that shows us a more intimate and direct Guinovart, and that allows us to continue its fascinating evolution. There is no doubt that it is in the portraits and self-portraits where an artist is often described more, and this is exactly what we want to do in Espai Guinovart: show how, despite a trajectory in a permanent state of renewal, the fascination with heads, portrait and self-portrait the crossing from top to bottom.

From the figurative portraits of peasants, clowns, friends and couples of the early fifties to the series of self-portraits My Animals (2006), it is more than half a century during which Guinovart does not stop investigating, searching and searching -se, doing all kinds of heads, portraits and self-portraits, as if the expression of a face -like or otherwise-was so much a recurring obsession to which he applied all his creative genius, knowing that he was in front of an inexhaustible reason.

And thus we will discover how the Guinovart universe and its formal keys can be researched through an apparently classic reason as the one of the portrait, that nevertheless does not stop to undergo all type of explorations: in this sense, the diverse ones Self-portraits that cross and score the
His work - The abstract painter (1954), Self-portrait (1966), Brochure flag (1970), Leaves leaf (1970) or My animals (2006) - They illuminate us, with humor and insolence, as it seemed the same artist: indomitable, rebellious, vital and iconoclastic.

Having explored the fruitful relationships of Guinovart with music, poetry, theater, eroticism or the sacred, it seemed to us that nothing better to celebrate his year at Agramunt, the epicenter of the imaginative Guinean, which to reserve -the most intimate exhibition, in which he is more bare and unarmed.
