Josep Minguell

The practice of mural painting

The exhibition presents 22 small-format oil paintings 30x30 cm on the studies of the landscape of Les Garrigues that the painter from Tàrrega, Josep Minguell, made to execute the mural painting of the church of the Conception of the Espluga Calba. The exhibition is complemented by photographs of this creative process.

In the context of this exhibition, a day of debate will be held on November 16 around the subject of painting and architecture, two arts that were closely linked for centuries, but which unfortunately have drifted apart since the 20th century.

Among other architects, artists and historians, the director of the MNAC, Eduard Carbonell, will participate in the conference; the architect Xavier Soler, the UdL art teacher Ester Ratés and the artists Josep Guinovart and Josep Minguell.
